Man Arriving UK From Nigeria Tested For Ebola

A man arriving from Nigeria in the United Kingdom has been tested for Ebola underscoring the fears over the spread of the deadly disease.

The unnamed man was tested at a hospital in Birmingham after arriving the UK via Paris, the Daily Mail reports.

The man has been given a clean bill of health and discharged from the hospital.

An Ebola outbreak has been ravaging the West African countries of Liberia, Guinea, and Sierra Leone.

On July 25, 2014, Liberian-American Patrick Sawyer, a top government official arrived Lagos aboard a ASKY Airline flight from Liberia with the virus. He had been caring for his sister who died from the virus. He collapsed at the airport.

Sawyer died five days after his arrival and was cremated, but not before passing on the deadly disease to doctors and nurses who treated him at First Medical Consultants, a hospital in Obalende, Ikoyi.
