A 25-year-old man identified as Buba Juli, reportedly killed his wife following a heated argument at Bujaye village, Kafin-hausa local government, Jigawa State.
Juli who has been arrested was said to have connived with his friend, Adamu Muhammad to commit the act after his wife dragged him to court.
Confirming the incident to newsmen on Thursday, January 28, 2016 the state police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abdul Jinjiri said the relatives of the deceased filed a report of the incident which led to the arrest of the husband while his cohort is still on the run.
According to Jinjiri, the court had fixed Tuesday, January 19, 2016 for the mentioning of the case but the suspects decided to confront her before the said date.
The PPRO said: “When they approached the wife at her parent’s house, she turned down their request. As a result of that, they decided to descend on her by using cutlass and knife to machete her which included chopping off her hand
“In this process, her relatives heard her shouting for help and before they could come to her rescue, the suspects had already perpetuated their evil plan and ran away.”
Jinjiri added that, after receiving the report, police arrived at the scene and took the victim to Kafin-Hausa general hospital where she later died.
