Must read

An Akure Customary Court, in Ondo State on Friday, August 28, 2015 received a suit from a middle-aged retired civil servant, Mr Emmanuel Olamurin, for a dissolution of hs 21-year-old marriage with his wife Modupe over clams that she wanted to kill him by pulling his manhood.

Olamurin said: “My wife wanted to kill me by clutching and pulling my manhood.”

He vehemently told the court that he could no longer put up with his wife who has posed a “great threat” to him.

The complainant further disclosed that the respondent usually stole his money on several occasions, adding that she even sold some property belonging to the family, without his consent.

According to him, the union had lost any affection needed in any good marriage and should therefore be dissolved.

However, the respondent faulted the claims from her husband and stated that she was willing to carry on with the marriage.

She accused him of promiscuity, saying that it was the main reason for his call for dissolution of the marriage.

According to her, she once caught him on bed with one of their neighbours, adding that instead of showing some remorse, declared that he was at liberty “to do anything”.

The woman further narrated that elders had intervened to resolve the issues, but the man has appeared adamant.

The president of the court, Mrs. Modupe Alex-Adedipe, the president of the court, in her ruling, advised the complainant to desist from committing all the atrocities his wife accused him of.

She urged him to take proper care of his family, especially their only child, because family peace would ensure a bright future for the boy.

The case was adjourned for further hearing until September 15, 2015.
