Newly Appointed Kogi Police Commissioner Allegedly Threatened By Governor Bello

There was a mild drama, Thursday, March 29, 2018, at the State Command of the Nigeria Police headquarters, Lokoja, as the incoming commissioner of police, Esa Sunday Ogbu, was not available for handover.

The outgoing CP, Ali Jaga was at the  office in the company of AIG of Police Zone 8, expecting to see the new CP.

According to Daily Post, an online news platform, the new CP had earlier been threatened a day to his resumption.

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State reportedly threatened Mr. Ogbu and told him to leave the Central Nigerian state.

The new CP, as a result of the intimidation, left for Abuja Thursday morning.

Efforts to speak with the spokesperson of the Nigerian Police Force, Jimoh Moshood was not successful as he did not pick calls made to his two telephone numbers.

Ibrahim Idris, the inspector general of police, had ordered the immediate removal of Ali Janga, the Kogi State Commissioner of Police, over questionable circumstances that led to escape of two key suspects in a matter involving Senator Dino Melaye.

The new CP, Ogbu was Commissioner of Police, Federal Operations, Force Headquarters, Abuja before his posting to Kogi State. This is part 6 of the endless comedy. The drama is on.
