Nigeria Emerges 111th Country In 2015 World’s Press Freedom Index

Nigeria has emerged the 111th among 180 countries and territories evaluated by Reporters Without Borders in Paris for press freedom index 2015.

The Press Freedom Index is an annual report which reflects the degree of freedom that journalists, news organizations, and media outfits enjoy in each country.

The efforts made by the authorities to respect and ensure respect for this freedom is also always examined in each report released every year.

The Freedom of Information Act in Nigeria was signed by President Goodluck Jonathan in 2011.
