Nigeria Vs Ghana: Ghanaian Coach Optimistic

Ghana Under-23 coach, Malik Jabir has said he is confident that his side will play the friendly against rivals Nigeria with all their zeal as he is aiming for a win.

Malik, who was former Kano Pillars technical director, said he has assembled an 18-man squad which comprises several youth internationals to face the home-based Super Eagles side in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

The game is expected to kick off on Friday, November 7, 2014 and will the official opening of the newly built Akwa Ibom Stadium which is also schedule to host Nigeria’s 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa.

Malik however said he expects a fiery encounter even though the two sides will not be featuring their respective first team.

“We are taking this game very serious because you know when ever Ghana play Nigeria it’s always very intense,” Jabir said.

“You will see that after all the pleasantries are done the two teams will try to win the game.

“The truth is when it comes to Ghana against Nigeria there is nothing like friendly games, we are going for it,” he declared.
