The Nigerian army has on Sunday, August 14, 2016 declared Ahmed Salkida, the Nigerian journalist known to have access to top Boko Haram commanders, wanted along with two others, Ahmed Bolori and Aisha Wakil.

According to a statement e-mailed to The Trent by  Colonel Sani Usman, spokesperson for the Nigerian Army, the trio have been declared wanted because they are in possession of information on the conditions and the exact location of schoolgirls kidnapped by Boko Haram from Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, in 2014.

“The trio have been declared wanted because they are in possession of information on the conditions and the exact location of schoolgirls kidnapped by Boko Haram from Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, in 2014,” the statement said.

“We are relying on the relevant laws of the land and in particular the terrorism prevention Act 2011 (as amended), where Nigerians could be punished for failure to disclose information about terrorists or terrorist activities.

“This becomes necessary as a result of their link with the last two videos released by Boko Haram terrorists and other findings of our preliminary investigations.

“They must, therefore, come forward and tell us where the group is keeping the Chibok Girls and other abducted persons to enable us to rescue them,” the statement ended.

Salkida is currently on self-imposed exile revealed Sunday, August 14, 2016 that Boko Haram had sent him the latest Chibok schoolgirls’ video.

Aisha Wakil was named as a member of former President Goodluck Jonathan’s Committee on Dialogue and Peaceful Resolution of Security Challenges inaugurated in April 2013 to seek ways to resolve the Boko Haram insurgency in the country.

She stood out at the inauguration event as she appeared covered from head to toe in her burqa.
