It is hard to know exactly how common domestic violence is, because people often don’t report it until it results in death.
That is the story of a 30-year-old Nigerian woman beaten to death by her husband.
The lady identified as Ese Egagha got married to her Malaysian based husband who is from Edo state in 2013 and has been suffering since then till it finally led to her death.
She died as a result of severe injuries she sustained from the beatings.
Gathering from tweets posted by one of her close friends, the victim was ashamed of leaving the marriage for fear of stigma.
Below are some of the tweets:
The stigma from a failed marriage is what keep many women in homes where they get beat regularly.

She was only 30 years old. Full of life. Loved to laugh. Had a big heart. But married a beast. Now she's gone.

This should act as a serious eye opener for women who foolishly remain in an abusive relationship.
Ladies, let’s join hands together and say no to domestic violence, seek help or counselling if need be.
May her soul rest in perfect peace.
