Senator Ben Bruce has identified the victims of electoral violence in Bayelsa State on January 9 elections.
The senator representing Bayelsa East constituency on Sunday, January 10, 2015 identified some of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters and party agents, who were victims of the violence that trailed Saturday’s election in the state.
Their names are Nicholas Sampson, Oweiga Clement, Opiriye Iyala and Princewill Takubo.
Taking to Twitter, Bruce shared his thoughts on the just concluded election that saw the re-election of Governor Serieke Dickson of the PDP.
Peaceful elections were the legacy President @GEJ_Official left us. But what we have today is despicable. Violence only begets violence!

The opposition blamed ex President GEJ for soldiers presence in Ekiti, yet that election was peaceful & bloodless. Why is Bayelsa different?

It is unconscionable to use free and fair election as a ladder to get to the top only to remove the ladder when you get there.

Dickson'll win this election, but the sheer savagery of those who tried to stop him with brute force makes me concerned about future polls.
