A Texas man was injured after he allegedly broke into a barn and tried to have sex with a horse.
Hidalgo County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to a barn in rural Edinburg on February 17 after the owner went outside to feed her horses and discovered an injured man next to one of the stables, according to a sheriff’s office news release.
The woman immediately identified the man as Cirilo Castillo Jr.
Castillo, 45, had previously been arrested for having sex with the woman’s horses and had been warned to stay away from the barn, police said.
When approached by officers, Castillo said he had been struck by a car and crawled to the barn for shelter, according to the news release.
However, investigators believe Castillo was injured after he trespassed into the barn and tried to perform a sexual act with the horse, the news release states.
Police said the horse kicked Castillo, causing him to break his leg.
Investigators drafted a warrant for Castillo’s arrest and he was taken into custody on June 2 for criminal trespassing.
A call for comment to Castillo’s attorney was not immediately returned.
