Popular Catholic Bishop Joins Pro-Biafra Activists Walking In Honour Of Igbo Heroes [LOOK]

The Igbo Heros Remembrance rallies of Monday, May 30, 2016 received a boost with the appearance of a Roman Catholic Bishop, His Grace, A. J. V. Obinna who joined the rally in Nkpor near Onitsha in Anambra State.

May 30 marks the day Igbos all over the world celebrate and honour their heroes who have passed, prominent among them is the late leader of the Biafra Republic, General Odumegwu Ojukwu.

The Catholic Bishop, an Igbo man, join the rally which began in Nkpor the place, where soldiers stormed a Catholic Church and killed 10 worshippers as they were preparing for mass on Monday.

The respected clergy is the Catholic Bishop of Owerri Diocese of the Roman Catholic Church and was treated as a rock star by the protestors who were delighted he had come all the way from Owerri in Imo State to join the procession.

Earlier this year, pro-Biafra agitators had visited the Vatican where they were welcomed by Pope Francis.

Despite the brutal crackdown on the unarmed pro-Biafra protesters made up of members of the group Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) and that of the Movement for the Actualisation of a Sovereign State Of Biafra (MASSOB), the rallies still held in several states in the South East and in Delta state on Monday.

Activists say that over thirty protesters were killed by Nigerian soldiers in their attempt to stop the procession and violence broke out in some part areas where the rallies were being held.

Two policemen were reportedly thrown into the River Niger, where they drowned in Asaba following clashes with protesters.
