The bible does not provide a double standard or compromise about sin. There are only two options for everyone: heaven or hell. Anyone looking forward to spending eternity in heaven must give up sin and accept the sacrifice of Jesus Christ by allowing Him to be the Lord over their lives. One cannot sin when Christ is the God over their lives. Although 27 percent of homosexuals identify themselves as Christians, homosexuality is a sin and there’s no single verse in the bible that condones it.
Even the early church had an issue with homosexuality and reported it to Paul. In response to the Corinthians, Paul said in 1 Cor 6:6: ‘’Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Spirit of our God.” Paul is stating when one accepts, Jesus he or she will avoid the immoral behavior and consequently regain hope of spending eternity in heaven.
One joins the family of God by yielding their trust in Jesus Christ. There’s no power over our bodies that Christ cannot help us handle. He can change our motives, desires, and attitude and beliefs; He came to save us so that we may all have a taste of heaven. Romans Chapter 1 records that homosexuality is a detrimental sin that defiles the body and the soul. The scripture says: ‘’For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their own error.” It is no doubt that homosexuals, and all others who sin, will not heaven.
