RIP: Newspaper Editor Killed In Abuja Mall Bomb Blast (PHOTOS OF SCENE)

Today’s shopping mall blast took the life of New Telegraph’s managing editor, Suleiman Bisala and 20 other people.

Bisala recently joined New Telegraph as managing editor (North) from Daily Trust Newspaper.

According to The Cable, he had gone to Emab Plaza to repair a faulty mobile phone when he was caught in the blast. His passing has been confirmed with deep sadness by a senior member of staff of New Telegraph which is owned by former Abia Governor Orji Uzor Kalu.

The Coordinator, National Information Centre, Mr Mike Omeri, said on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 that soldiers killed one of the suspected bombers of EMAB Plaza in Abuja and arrested another, News Agency of Nigeria reports.

Omeri told newsmen in Abuja that the attackers came on a power bike and planted an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) by the entrance of the shopping mall.

He also confirmed the death of 21 persons and 17 others injured in the blast which also damaged several vehicles.
