In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1). Therefore, the earth and everything on it belong to Him. That’s a valid truth; but you see, that’s not the only revelation of the truth that you should have.
Psalm 115:16 communicates another very important truth: it says, “The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s; but the earth He has given to the children of men.” God gave us the earth! No wonder Psalm 8 says, “What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him? You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen— even the beasts of the field, the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea that pass through the paths of the seas.” Hallelujah!
One may argue that man lost the world to the devil when he disobeyed God; but that has been taken care of! That’s one of the reasons why Jesus came, to restore man’s authority and inheritance: 1 Corinthians 3:21-22 says, “Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours: whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas, or the world or life or death, or things present or things to come—all are yours.” Wow! The world is mine! I’m rich! Glory to God!
