Here’s what happened: his woman was unfaithful to him, left his house and went to her father’s house, and was there for four months. Some men wouldn’t have bothered to make effort to have her back, but the man did. That’s love.
That’s just like God. We do all sorts: some of us don’t even know what it is to be faithful to God! We misbehave times without number, but instead of God to ignore us, He comes after us with love, grace and mercy; gives us assurance of forgiveness, and brings us back home.
You’re here today, not because of your goodness or righteousness, but because of His righteousness and kindness towards you. There’s nothing to boast about, except it’s about Him. God’s love for us is great; it’s wider than the ocean, it can never be exhausted. We can’t pay Him for His love, but we can love Him back, and decide from today to be faithful to Him.
