The prosecutor, Cpl. Godwin Oriabure, told the court that the accused on July 29 stood as a surety for his son, David, who was involved in a case of obtaining money by false pretence.

He said that the surety, who agreed to produce his son any time he was needed by the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, gave false information to a public officer.

The prosecutor said that the surety’s son was arrested over allegation of conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretence on July 21.

He said the Eze’s son was released after he posted a bail bond of N1 million on the said date.
