#TechWorld: Now Americans Can Access Social Security With Their Cellphones

Must read

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Social Security Administration has made it quite easy for you to learn a wealth of information when it comes to learning more about your social security benefits.

As long as you have a smartphone, blackberry, android, window device or an iPhone, you should be able to easily find out quite a bit of information.

The majority of information you will be able to find include learning how to obtain a social security card or a replace one that you have lost, learn how to create your own account on the social security website, and be directed to their online services. Other things you will be able to do on your cellphone include connect with the Social Security Administration on Twitter, Pinterest, Twitter, and YouTube, find the office that nearest to your location.

Of course you can visit their office and receive original documents and learn how much you can earn if you become disabled or retire as well call them on the telephone. However, if you plan on calling, be sure your phone is fully charged as you will more than likely be on hold for at least thirty minutes if not more. The administration receives a high volume of calls and will take them in the order they are received, so if you do call, do not hang up and call back or you will be at the end of the list all over again.

If you do decide to obtain an account on their website, you will be able to obtain all of your information quickly and even receive a summary of the taxes that you have paid, and if you need you can even change your information so the social security office will have correct data.

On the other hand, the website will not really help you if you have been turned down for social security disability benefits. In these cases, you will need to talk with a professional attorney in order to receive the help you need, as in most cases, the first time around everyone is turned down. Then you will require an attorney that can speak on your behalf and help you receive the benefits you deserve once you become disabled as the money you will be receiving is mainly the money you paid in while you were able to work.

Of course the website does offer information on applying for social security disability which can be done online, but for low income individuals that will be receiving SSI, it cannot be done online but via telephone or have the documents sent to you through the mail to file for help. The website does come in handy, but when you need legal advice, the website is not the place to turn.
