The Article Written By A Buhari Supporter Who Took It Down After Being Threatened (READ)

Must read

[dropcap]O[/dropcap]ne of my elite friend, whose name I will not mention, posted the essay (below) on his Facebook page and removed it almost immediately. But, not before I had copied and saved it.

I found out that a number of Buhari’s ardent supporters are tired of his non-governance, but many of them are either afraid to speak up or are waiting in the wings, hoping things would improve.

It is republished, unedited below:

ADVICE FOR THE PRESIDENT, THE GOVERNMENT AND THE PARTY

I have lately heard certain curious apologists crowing that this government is “just 6 months old” and so is entitled to doing things at its own pace. PMB (President Muhammadu Buhari) and the APC (All Progressives Congress) should run away from such people. They are enemies.

The truth, and it’s our duty to speak non partisan truth to help the government and the people, is that the situation Nigerians are experiencing daily cannot accommodate this “PMB has just been there for 6 months”. The proposition is a very simple one. PMB and APC asked for and fought for power. It was very rough. They made promises too on the assumption that they knew what they were inheriting. To listen to the apologists is to admit that while the campaign promises were being made, no one had an idea how bad the situation was. So on what basis were the promises of change made? Then idea of change assumes movement from something bad to something better.

Those close to the President should advise him that he should act daily as if his tenure ends in the next one year and not 2019. Nigerians have a lot of faith in his ability to effect a change and this is why they voted for him. People expect that Change c c promise that galvanised votes for him. If the economy was more robust then he would buy more time. As a General he should treat the Nigerian situation as one of war…economic war of survival.

Which is why the entire APC apparatus must combine with frenzy to deliver on the promises especially at a very tough period in this country. Too much time and energy have gone and are still going into activities that cannot deliver change. The division is deep and fractious. We are embarrassed that we have a National Assembly that is still nitpicking on the choice of committee membership! We have a Senate leadership that spends more time on how to escape conviction for corruption charges. We have a party thats clearly experiencing some disagreements between senior members. So when will they settle down to craft legislations that will support executive plans for Nigerians?

We are praying daily for PMB to succeed because we know that in his success is ours. Enlightened self interest. But the President should begin to turn deaf ears to those apologists who daily say things like, “the President needs to clear the problems of 16 years”; “the government is just 6 months old” etc. They are offering him and Osinbajo false comfort. The apologists of “just 6 months” should realise that Murtala Muhammed didn’t spend a year there! Whatever is still being said about him today was achieved in about 6 months. The President should trust those who tell him the truth about what Nigerians are going through, the Nigerians he assured things would change. No one voted to listen to excuses from these apologists. People voted to see change. PMB has been there before. He should be able to separate the chaff from the wheat.

There must be a very strong focus on introducing palliatives. The people are hurting. They don’t want to know if it was PDP, APC, Panadol or Aspirin that caused it. All they want is solution. This is what PMB promised. This was why he was voted in. He must begin to deliver so that he can sustain the trust of over 12 million voters.

To whom much is given…

God help you Mr President Sir!

My comment to the first commentator who was still trying to promote the reason why Buhari should be slow pace. (Still undedited)

“You are still trying to create an excuse which is unreal with the “Papa Go Slow” tag…. Buhari should run from you….

“No Minister has been appointed so far till they have been given a portfolio, if in 6 months a government that promised to hit the ground running is still joking, then Nigeria is in for a mess…

“The President has done nothing rather than to pay salaries, even after deceiving the nation that salaries will be paid on Tuesday when I raised up the issue in a post on Sunday, the government still came up with excuses of a CBN problem….

“There is no focus and direction in this government but excuses and a destruction of the Nigerian image and a near collapse of the whole economy in the name of telling a false truth without evidence…

“Nigeria under Buhari has become terribly sick and it’s cure will take a number of years….

“Funnily, apologist of Buhari still try to even insult reputable institutions and investors who did not see a reason to no more stay as being complicit for evil in the past administration, that the largest economy is becoming the fourth largest in Africa in just six months, that the stock market has lost so much to the tune of 4 trillion in 6 months, that over 630,000 person’s have lost their jobs…

“Boko Haram is on the increase gaining grounds on territories they had been pursued from, that Fulani herdsmen are maiming and killing innocent Nigerians on a daily basis and there is no single contract awarded while we have a continued terrible road network…

“Things was to change for the best, not for the worse, Nigerians voted for change but unfortunately what we got was a cursed change filled with lies and deceit….

“We should close our eyes in shame and never create excuses for rubbish, brother, man….”
