Eurydice Davis, who was a talent agent to a number of people in the movie industry, has died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
The Wrap learned from the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office on Monday that the talent agent, who commonly went by the shortened form of her first name, “Eury,” died last Wednesday. Considering the manner of death, the county coroner ruled Davis’ death as a suicide.
Davis, who also acted and modeled, reportedly committed suicide around 5:45 a.m. on Wednesday. She was confirmed dead about four-and-a-half hours later at UCLA Medical Center, according to the coroner. The talent agent was 38-years-old as at the time of her death.
Davis was born on April 28, 1976 in New York, but later lived in Los Angeles, California. She was the talent agent to a number of motion picture figures, including actresses Jena Sim from Kill the Messenger and Claudia Katz from Ouija as well as actor Christian Martin, who appeared in the movie, Pirates of the Caribbean.
The Davis Talent Agency, which is based in Manhattan Beach, California, has not made any comment on Davis’ death.
Aside from her talent agent work, Davis was also directly involved in acting, taking roles in films and television shows. She was featured in the 2007 film Norbit, starring Eddie Murphy. She also appeared in the films American Son, starring Nick Cannon, and Pathology, alongside Milo Ventimiglia and Alyssa Milano. In addition, Davis had roles in a number of TV series, including Identity, The Boys and Girls Guide to Getting Down, and Wild World of Spike. She was also cast in the Emmy Award-nominated Sleeper Cell.
A product of Sam Houston State University, Davis boasted a master’s degree in criminal justice alongside a minor in psychology. The fitness enthusiast was reportedly trained in defensive tactics and weapons. She was even said to have once served as a correctional officer.
Davis was also a known model. She has appeared in a number of national ad campaigns, including those for Absolut Vodka (with Kanye West) and Verizon Wireless.
