The Nigerian Army is recording successes in the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign in the North East as they raid Boko Haram camps arresting key players and rescuing abducted victims.
In a recent raid on the terrorists camp in Borno, the wife of a Boko Haram kingpin was arrested and is giving out valuable information to them, the army has said.
In a recent statement made available to newsmen, Colonel Tukur Gusau, spokesman of the 7 Division of the Nigeria Army said that the arrest was made during operations in Kukawa and Nganzai local government areas of Borno state.
Troops of the 115 Task Force Battalion under 7 Brigade Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) during a patrol and raid on the Boko Haram terrorists’ hideout, arrested a woman presumed to be wife of the Boko Haram leader.
The unnamed Boko Haram kingpin escaped arrest as a gun battle ensued between the terrorists and soldiers of the Nigerian army, his wife and their four children were arrested.
It is known that most Boko Haram ‘amirs’ are allowed to move around with their families.
The terrorist wife is said to be cooperating with the army, dishing out useful information to help them clamp down on the terrorists.
