WATCH: Bayelsa Youth Overpowering ‘Soldier’ Attempting To Snatch Ballot Box (VIDEO)

A new video has emerged which provides a glimpse into the perpetrators of election violence during the December 5 elections in Bayelsa State.

In the video, shared by Ena Ofugara on Facebook, you can see some youths in a struggle with a man in army uniform with a rifle. The youth appear to overpower him and he is taken away by some other youths.

According to Ofugara, the man in the army uniform is a Nigerians soldier and was attempting to snatch a ballot box but was prevented by the vigilant youth.

The Bayelsa governorship elections was declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after it polls in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area was was marred by violence and hostage taking of electoral officials and materials.

The People’s Democratic Party’s candidate, incumbent Governor Serakie Dickson holds a strong lead against the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, former Governor Timipre Sylva. Dickson won in 6 of the 7 local government areas that have been announced.

Senator Ben Murray Bruce presenting Bayela East District has sworn to drag perpetrators of election violence to the International Criminal Court at The Hague.

All Progressives Congress (ACP) chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun has said that the party has reservations about the elections. ‘’We are waiting for the processes to be concluded, but I must say we have a lot of reservations about what has gone on up till the present moment,” Odigie-Oyegun told newsmen. “If we win as we expect to win, the kind of reactions that we’ll take will be different.”
