We Have No Plans To Charge Diezani Alison-Madueke – UK Crime Agency

Must read

The National Crime Agency (NCA) has no plan to charge former Petroleum Minsiter, Mrs Deziani Alison- Madueke, a spokesman for the Agency told the Guardian on Monday, October 5, 2015 after the NCA had got a court order to keep the £27,000 found on her till next April.

The Nigerian Presidency said in a statement on Sunday, that it was “actively collaborating” with the UK authorities on money laundering, bribery, and fraud investigation on Alison-Madueke who was former petroleum minister under President Goodluck Jonathan from April 2010 till May 2015.

Premium Times reported Friday that Alison-Madueke was arrested by the NCA in the UK over investigation into corruption and money laundering.

TVC News, reported the same Friday, that she had been granted bail and was expected to appear in a London police station on Monday, October 5, 2015.

The UK authorities, especially the National Crime Agency never mentioned Alison-Madueke’s name in any of their communication on this matter.

Reuters reported that the first ever female OPEC chairman was arrested and said that a source in the Nigerian Presidency confirmed it to news platform.

This story is unravelling quickly and beginning to look like a media lynching of Alison-Madueke ignited by media associated with the All Progressive Congress (APC).

We will keep you updated as more details continue to come in on this story. Calls to Alison-Madueke and her family members by The Trent, have gone unanswered.
