10 ‘Cool’ Things Men Do That Women Hate

Must read

by Rati Agrawal

On a first date, a man will go to any extent to impress his woman. He will try his level best to show his best side and prove to her that he is one of a kind. But dear men there is something called trying too hard. We women judge a man on many levels and trust us if you fail even one level you are out of the door. So don’t try too hard to impress and stop doing these obscenely hideous things on a first date.
Talking about your high flying job: To impress a woman, a lot of men keep on talking about their high flying job and how they rub shoulders with the high and mighty. And all we are thinking is, when he will stop talking.

Discuss your hair care routine: We don’t want a hair boner when we touch your hair. Men with so much gel or product in their hair are such a major turn off.

Way too much deodorant or perfume: Yes it’s good to smell good but we don’t need to catch a whiff from miles away. Please put a line on how much deodorant or perfume you apply on a date. For all you know we might be allergic to certain smells.

Toilet humour: This is the first date and you tell us a joke about shit?! We really don’t need to hear more.

Creepy names: There are times men try to over familiarise themselves by calling us women names like ‘Babes’ or ‘sexiness’. All we want to do is punch you, then and there, babes.

Overly chivalrous: It’s good to pull out the chair and push open the door but if we insist on going Dutch on a first date, let us. After all there is nothing more romantic than a man who respects a woman and her independence.

Whistling at the waiter: Making those disgusting smooching sounds or whistling when you want to call the waiter is so not cool.

Playing with your moustache: Men love their moustache and nicely trimmed beard, but what’s this obsession of constantly touching your facial hair or twirling your moustache. FYI we hate this habit of yours, men.

Brand name dropping: We love shopping but that doesn’t mean we want to talk to you about it (only) on a first date. The moment you start gushing about your Gucci sunglasses or your favourite pink Alexander McQueen shirt, we are waiting to get out.

English accents: You are an Indian so why this sudden accent in your English? The biggest turn off for a woman is the fake accent which men sport out of nowhere.
