21 PHOTOS That Will Leave You Speechless [LOOK]

Must read

by Richard Davidson

Some of the images in this story could be upsetting to some viewers. Viewer desecration is advised.

Have you seen the internet meme with the phrase “Come at me bro!”? If you have, then I’m quite sure you’ll agree with me when I say that this picture fits perfectly with that meme.

As you can see, the picture shows a man standing in the middle of a lighthouse that’s about to receive a great deal of punishment from what I assume are at least 10 foot waves. True, you can’t see the guy’s expression through the photo, but the picture is enough to show that he is more daring than the average fellow. If that were me, I’d be hiding inside in fear of those gigantic waves. Not him though…not him.

The question now is how the photographer took this photo and what this man’s reaction would be if he were to see this.

Lighthouse

Perhaps the most amazing thing about this picture is not that this man embraced his wife after a garment factory in Bangladesh collapsed around them. Rather, it’s that there’s not a look of fear or panic in their faces. All you can see is the both of them accepting what’s to come and somehow being happy that they’re going to die together and in each other’s arms.

Tanzania- we consider it to be an everyday thing, but some children just don’t have what our children have.

One tank isn’t something that anybody wants to mess with. More so if that tank is under the command of an atrocious government that’s one of the worst in recent history. This is why the so-called “Tank Man” made waves in 1989 and still does today: for his act of bravery by not only standing up against one tank, but four of them in single column.

The “Tank Man” wasn’t carrying anything. No guns. No bombs. Not even a knife. All he had with him was a bucket full of confidence and courage, and a bag full of what appears to be groceries.

The China of today is far from what China was in the past. This isn’t just in terms of economy and politics, but also when it comes to landscape.

As China has become more of a modern country, the landscape changed beyond recognition. It’s now rare to find sites like terraced rice paddy fields, which is quite sad since they used to be common in China.

And that’s exactly what makes this photo special, as it signifies the changes that have swept through the country over recent years.

War Veterans are either some of the best or the worst people you’ll ever meet. The latter because they’ve been forever scarred by the horrors of war and the former because of the same reason.  This picture shows you which of the two this guy is.

Konstantin Pronin is a War Veteran from Belarus. The picture below was taken in 2011 and shows him waiting for his comrades. This is in line with the customary Victory Day celebrations in Gorky Park, Moscow.

Unfortunately, Pronin was the only one to show from his unit, which is quite sad. Sadder still is that the reason for this may be that he’s the only one still alive.

It’s common for surgeons to play God while their patients lie dying in the operating tables.

In the picture below, this heart surgeon did just that. It’s a good thing for the patient that the surgeon decided to play the merciful and giving God.

Performing heart transplant surgery for 23 long hours, this surgeon did something that’s part of a day’s work in his profession. But still, it’s worth noting that the surgeon doesn’t look a bit tired, while his assistant is sleeping soundly in the corner of the room.

Kudos to the photographer for capturing such a perfect moment.

Now, if there’s one guy that can give Bruce McCandless a run for his money for the title of having the biggest balls in the world, it’d be this guy.

Casually walking towards God knows where, this guy isn’t just taking a walk or on patrol. Rather, he’s walking towards his possible death if he isn’t able to diffuse the bomb that’s further down the road in time, or if he cuts the wrong wires by mistake.

War has this way of making the lives of everyone involved in it worse than they should be. Not only does it hurt the civilians that get caught in the crossfire, but the civilians that are the families left behind by such soldiers.

Marine Staff Sgt. Marc Golycynski was due to come home within a few weeks. But his family, namely his son Christian Golczynski, will no longer have the chance to welcome him back home – as the Marine Staff Sergeant died from a gunshot wound while in Iraq.

Christian accepted the flag for his father. Though, this isn’t even close to making this child feel his father’s love once again.

You can just see from the tears welling up in his eyes that he and his father were close.

Video game? Not quite. This isn’t a poster either. What this is, is a picture that won the World Press Photo Award back in 1991.

Simple as it may look like, the photographer captures how even the toughest of all soldiers feel in the battlefield as they mourn the deaths of their comrades. It’s traumatizing to have to watch your friends die in front of you. But Ken Kozakiewicz, the soldier crying in despair, went through something gut-wrenching when he found out that the body bag at his feet had his close friend, Andy Alaniz, inside.

Another war and another family ripped apart. At least this boy got to see his father again, as they were reunited after the war.

However, they were the lucky few. When will the day come when such unnecessary bloodshed will be over?

Have you ever wondered why scientists and astrologists often say that we’re all just a spec of dust in the middle of space? Well, that’s not just a metaphor; it’s true.

Just take a look at that photo below. It’s a picture captured using the Hubble Deep Field. It took a lot of time to magnify and was a difficult photo to properly take. Though, that’s not what’s surprising, because this picture alone is just a tiny portion of the whole universe.

Think of a spec of dust in a place full of sand and that’s what this picture is. And to think that it already has hundreds of galaxies in it. This means that we, and our planet, are just a spec of dust floating in the middle of the vastness of space.

And kidding aside, the picture sort of makes you think twice about thinking that the world is such a huge place, doesn’t it?

Galaxy

The picture right here is of a sunset. But, it’s not just any sunset out there. You see, it’s a picture of a sunset on Mars. Yes, you’ve heard it right, from Mars, the red planet, the very same planet that we have come to believe will be our second home.

Taken by the Spirit Rover back in 2005, it’s a picture that symbolizes how far we’ve come and how far we still have to go in knowing more about not just Mars, but the whole universe.

Sunser

Move over Michael Jackson and your Moon Walk, we have another one that’s a whole lot better.

Guys, say hello to Bruce McCandless, the guy who has the biggest balls in the whole world, and his spacewalk.

Anyone who’s willing to go out into space untethered definitely deserves such a distinction.

SpaceWalk

See that streak to the left? That’s a meteor from the Perseid meteor shower, which is to say, rubble from the Perseid comet. The comet derives its name from Perseus, a Greek legend who killed a gorgon Medusa, completed heroic tasks and fulfilled prophecies, until at last he became a constellation.

Perseid

This is a picture taken from the moon of the planet Earth. To be honest, this may be one of the only “groupfies” with the most people in a single picture.

Earth

Most of us live a pretty comfortable life. Oftentimes, we go shopping and splurge money. After that, we go on to eat in our favorite restaurants and overall, have a good time. In the midst of this happiness and comfort, we often forget that some people are not as blessed as we are in life.

Take for example the picture below.

It shows two women who’re enjoying a good dinner at an expensive looking restaurant while there’s a homeless man outside sleeping just below their window. Now, it’s not their fault that the homeless man is well… homeless, but maybe we should all take the time to see how other people are faring around us.

Who knows, the next time we’re eating delightfully in a restaurant, we might even be able to see the problem and then, just maybe, find a way to help out… even if just a little.

Ignorance

Sudan is one of the world’s poorest countries. It’s a country whose poverty levels are lower than those of even a few third-world countries. To say that it’s poor isn’t even enough to fully describe the state of the country of Sudan.

The picture below shows just that. No, that’s not the hand of a dead infant or child. It’s the hand of a living, breathing, child, albeit, a thin and malnourished one.

In not the mere state of the child’s body but how common it is in the country of Sudan that speaks to just how poor the country is.

Hope

Syria is one of those countries that’s been hit by both poverty and war in recent years. In fact, it’s been three years since the Syrian Crisis started and it’s not showing signs of letting up.

As with any war or crisis, children are almost always those that suffer the most.

Just look at how this little girl fills her container with water at a Syrian refugee camp and you’ll find yourself thinking of how it’s possible for some people to let children suffer like this.

Life

As you may have seen from the examples above, some photos can be breathtaking, while some can be just plain heartbreaking. Though, one thing that I haven’t shown you is a picture that can not only render you speechless, but also, make you feel angry at the same time.

The photo below is an example of such a photo. It’s shocking and it’s horrendous. It’s even hard to think how someone could have the stomach to take a picture like this.

If there’s something to take from this photo, it’s probably that we should never do anything like this. And if you’re wondering what exactly this is, the picture is of a Turkish official teasing starving children.

In other parts of the world, a single piece of bread isn’t something to be begged for. But, these children that are said to be part of the genocide in Armenia back in 1915 probably haven’t eaten much in past weeks. As a result, these children look not only malnourished, but also close to death. It’s amazing how they’re still alive – given the state of their bodies and living conditions!

Tease

This has got to be one of the hungriest looking men that you’ll ever find in modern times. Yes, I said modern times because this is quite a recent photo.

The picture shown is of Indian men who are lining up for a free meal given in honor of Id-Ul-Fitr (Feast for breaking the fast) near Jama Mazjid, New Delhi.

The reason why so many men are lining up is because most of them are minimum-wage laborers and some are even homeless. This means the food that they’re getting is probably the yummiest they’re ever going to taste, at least for a while.

Indian

When all hope is lost and everything is gone, there’s one thing that we should always remember. It’s that our family will always be there to support us through and through.

All

There is a rare medical condition when a woman’s uterus presents as a paired organ – this is exceptionally strange! Babies are much harder not to lose for women with this condition, and cesarean sections are needed many times, along with all sorts of special care. In one study the survival rate of the babies/fetuses was 67.5%, which makes this little guy all the more incredible. The miracle of life never ceases to amaze, especially after getting a glimpse of life bursting from a womb that looks like an egg shell. This is an image that will truly leave you speechless
