8 Ogun State Lawmakers Decamp To PDP, SDP

Eight members of the Ogun State House of Assembly on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 decamped to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Punch reports that the Speaker, Suraj Adekunbi made the announcement by reading a letter on the defection of the lawmakers.

Three lawmakers elected on the platform of the Peoples Party of Nigeria (PPN), Salmon Adeleke, Joseph Adegbesan, and John Obafemi along with Remmy Hassan and Obafemi Olowo-Oloja of the All Progressives Congress (APC) all defected to the PDP while Olufemi Allen-Taylor, Oludaisi Elemide and Elizabeth Anifowose, also of the APC all defected to SDP.

Adekunbi said: “I received a letter announcing the defection of Messrs Joseph Adegbesan, Salmon Adeleke, John Obafemi, Remmy Hazzan and Obafemi Olowo-Oloja to the PDP.

“I also got three letters this morning from Hon. Olufemi Allen-Taylor, Oludaisi Elemide and Elizabeth Anifowose, announcing their defection from the All Progressives Congress to the Social Democratic Party.”

“Adegbesan, Adeleke and Obafemi dumped the PPN to join the PDP while Hazzan and Olowo-Oloja also dumped the APC for the PDP.”
