NEW YORK, USA — Haley Kalil, a model and the former wife of the retired NFL player Matt Kalil, has asked a court to dismiss a lawsuit filed by her ex-husband after she publicly discussed intimate aspects of their marriage.
The legal dispute stems from remarks Kalil made during a livestream in November 2025, in which she spoke about her former husband’s anatomy and said it had been “the biggest factor” in the end of their marriage. She also described him as a good person during the broadcast.
Matt Kalil, who was selected by the Minnesota Vikings as the fourth overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, filed suit earlier this month, accusing his former spouse of making “invasive commentary” and seeking damages for invasion of privacy and unjust enrichment.

Motion to Dismiss Cites Free Speech
Haley Kalil’s lawyer, Matthew Bialick, said she had moved to have the case thrown out, arguing that her statements were protected.
“We moved to dismiss the complaint because Minnesota has a longstanding commitment to free speech, which is important now more than ever,” Mr. Bialick told TMZ Sports.
“Allowing a lawsuit to proceed against a woman for sharing a truthful, autobiographical account of sexual trauma would directly undermine those core values. We believe the motion will be granted.”
Court documents obtained by Page Six state that Ms. Kalil described what she called a “specific anatomical incompatibility that rendered a normal sexual relationship impossible,” adding that the marriage was “a loving union that was ultimately hindered by an unfortunate physical incompatibility.”
The documents further argue that the lawsuit seeks to punish her for “providing a truthful, autobiographical account of sexual trauma she suffered.”
Response From Kalil’s Legal Team
Lawyers representing Mr. Kalil said they expected the motion to be rejected.
“Haley Kalil’s motion to dismiss does not dispute the fact that she wantonly disclosed private and intimate details about Matt Kalil that resulted in widespread ridicule and unwanted attention,” Ryan Saba of Rosen Saba LLP told TMZ Sports.
Mr. Saba added that “a spouse does not have a right to expose private and confidential marital and sexual details for the purpose of profiting.”
In his court filing, Mr. Kalil said he had faced “unwanted attention and invasive commentary from the public” following the livestream. He said members of his family, including his wife, “have been forced to endure the ongoing public circulation of these degrading and deeply personal statements.”
The lawsuit alleges that Ms. Kalil disclosed “highly intimate and private facts regarding Plaintiff’s physical person and sexual life.” Mr. Kalil is seeking damages exceeding $75,000 and has requested a jury trial.
Background of the Marriage and Career
Haley Kalil and Matt Kalil married in Hawaii in 2015. She filed for divorce in 2022, citing irreconcilable differences.
After their separation, Mr. Kalil remarried in April 2024, wedding model Keilani Asmus. He has since lived largely outside the public spotlight.
During his professional career, Kalil spent his first five seasons with the Vikings and was selected to the Pro Bowl in his rookie year. He later played for the Carolina Panthers and the Houston Texans before retiring from football.
Following his retirement, he co-founded a tequila company, Celaya, with his brother Ryan Kalil, a former All-Pro centre.
The court has not yet ruled on Ms. Kalil’s motion to dismiss.
