AMCON to Auction Properties, Including Abuja’s Silverbird Mall by July 11 [SEE LIST]

ABUJA, Nigeria — The Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) has put up a series of properties for sale across several Nigerian states, as part of its mandate to recover debts and resolve eligible bank assets acquired from financial institutions.

In an advertorial published in ThisDay Newspaper on Monday, June 30, 2025, the corporation announced a competitive bidding process for the sale of real estate assets located in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Lagos, Rivers, Plateau, and Oyo States.

According to the announcement, the assets include commercial, residential, and industrial developments, many of which sit on sizable plots of land and feature auxiliary structures such as warehouses, office blocks, security outposts, and staff quarters.

“Assets purchased from various eligible financial institutions hereby offer the following properties for sale to interested members of the public,” AMCON stated.

Highlighted Properties

In Ibadan, Oyo State, AMCON is offering a warehouse and office block located at Km 9, Old Lagos Road, Podo, in the Mogbojubola Layout, Opere Industrial Village.

The property spans approximately 12,803 square metres, and includes a security block, external toilet facilities, and a generator house.

In Lagos, an office complex at 3 Sawyer Crescent, near Corona School in Gbagada, is listed for sale.

Though situated in a residential zone, the building—comprising two floors, a generator house, and a gatehouse—could potentially be converted into a school or business premises subject to appropriate approvals.

Hotel Property in Jos and Prime Abuja Space

In Jos, Plateau State, AMCON is offering the former Hotel Sumiram and Green Restaurant located on Secretariat Link Road.

The property includes a six-room main block, a ten-room rear block, a karaoke bar, poolside area, garden, and related structures on a 2,567.74sqm site.

Among the more prominent listings is a five-storey commercial development at the Silverbird Entertainment Centre Mall in Abuja’s Central Area.

The mall, with a gross lettable space of 15,650.10sqm, was part of the Silverbird Group’s assets seized in 2016 over a debt dispute involving approximately ₦11 billion.

Rivers State Listings

In Port Harcourt, several properties have been offered for sale, including:

  • A warehouse and office block at 2 Aba Road, beside Isaac Boro Park flyover, on 2,529.63sqm of land.

  • Six three-bedroom flats with a gatehouse at 216 Okporo Road, Rumuodara, Obi Akpor LGA, on 613.19sqm.

  • A residential compound at Plot 71 (68), Sani Abacha 7 Link Road, GRA Phase 3, featuring two five-bedroom duplexes, two four-bedroom semi-detached units, and auxiliary buildings on 2,360.32sqm.

  • A five-bedroom semi-detached duplex at 4 Nda Street, off Eliada Layout (Cocaine Estate), Rumuogba, with adjoining servant quarters, security post, and generator house on 691.87sqm.

  • Twin warehouse bays and a gatehouse at Km 2 Port Harcourt/Aba Expressway on 7,608sqm.

  • A seven-bedroom detached house at Plot 8, C and C Estate, off R.D Road, on 811.12sqm of land.

Bidding Process and Deadline

AMCON noted that all assets will be sold through a competitive bidding process, with a submission deadline set for Friday, July 11, 2025.

Details regarding the opening of bids will be communicated at a later date.
