‘Political window-dressing and dramatising’: PDP Berates APC’s ‘Kangaroo Opinion Rating’

Must read

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has advised the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its Presidential flagbearer, Muhammadu Buhari to focus on real campaign in order to win supporters genuinely.

This message was conveyed via a statement signed by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh in Abuja and dated Monday, January 5, 2015.

Parts of the statement read: “This election is not about political window-dressing and dramatising. What will count is record of performance and antecedents.

“It is therefore not surprising that the APC and its Presidential candidate will resort to organising a kangaroo opinion rating in a failed attempt to cover up their inadequacies and manipulate public perception in their favour.”

He said the APC poll was cooked up in a way that would make Nigerians believe that 75% of the voting population were behind Buhari ahead of the presidential election to be held on Saturday, February 14, 2014.

Metuh accused the APC of using a mobile phone balloting application whereby a “curious click” brings about a thank you message, automatically registering the user as having voted for Buhari, just as he urged the Nigerian public to be careful of this scheme to deceive the masses and stem the democratic process.
