How Tragic: 8-Year-Old Shot Dead By Brother Who Mistook Real Gun For BB Gun
CINCINNATI – An 8-year-old boy identified as Sammy Lorenzo, was fatally shot in the chest on Saturday, March 1, 2014 when he and his brothers mistook a loaded gun for a BB gun.
The boys had been visiting their uncle in the city’s Price Hill neighborhood when the incident occurred. They allegedly found the gun and one pulled the trigger, striking the deceased in the chest, according to the Cincinnati police.
The boy was reportedly taken to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and rushed into surgery, but later died.
It was learnt that Cincinnati homicide detectives are investigating the incident, but no charge is expected to be made against the children.
