Former Finance Minister of Nigeria, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has been elected as the Director General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
Okonjo-Iweala defeated South Korea’s Yoo Myung-hee, by a wide margin in the final stage of the selection process on Wednesday, October 28, 2020.
The WTO is expected to formerly make the announcement later on Wednesday.
