NAN – President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Mohammed Babandede as the new comptroller-general of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).
This is contained in a statement signed by Bassey Akpanyung, permanent secretary, ministry of interior, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 in Abuja.
Until his appointment, Mr. Babandede was a deputy comptroller-general at the Nigeria Immigration Service Headquarters.
Mr. Babandede replaces Martin Abeshi, who retired last week from the service at the end of his tenure.
The statement said that the appointment of Mr. Babandede is to take effect from May 15, 2016.
