A 35-year old dare devil walked between two sky scrappers in Chicago without any safety mechanism – harnesses, wires or safety nets – covering a distance of 454-feet in six-and-half minutes.

Nik Wallenda’s stunt was broadcast on TV, adding a 10-second “death delay” so that broadcasters could quickly cut broadcast if he fell to his death, with journalists signing waivers absorbing themselves of the right to claim emotional distress if they witnessed a catastrophe.

Metro UK reports that Wallenda , who comes hails from a family of famous tightrope walkers, with his grandfather falling to his death during a tightrope stunt in Puerto Rico a year before Wallenda was born.

Wallenda has has had two successful rope walks – over the brink of Niagara Falls in 2012 and across the Little Colorado River Gorge last year – attracting more than 10 million viewers each.

He said after the stunt: “That cable looked like it was going straight up.  I feel incredible!
