A Nigerian woman, Ada Ogbonna, has named her pet dog after the country’s information minister, Lai Mohammed.
This announcement follows the dust raised after the Nigerian police arrested a 30-year-old trader for naming his dog Buhari. According to the trader, he named his dog after Buhari in admiration.
The US-based Ms. Ogbonna said she decided to name her dog, Lai Mohammed because she “admired” the minister.
Writing on her Facebook page, Ogbonna said:
I named it after someone I admired. I wonder why that other man got arrested for naming his dog after a look alike.
