DPO Arrested For Alleged Rape Weeps In Cell, Puts The Blame On The Devil

The divisional police officer of Onikan police station in Lagos, Mr Adekunle Awe, who was arrested for the alleged rape of a woman in custody has, according to reports, weeped while in detention blaming his predicament on the devil.

The DPO reportedly broke down in his cell on Friday, April 19, 2014 where he is being held for raping the woman in his office while she was in detention in his station. He weeps blaming it on the devil.

Awe reportedly raped the 31-year-old cook and threatened her before extorting N30,000 from her and five other suspects, on April 15.

According to reports, Awe kept lamenting in his cell that the devil brought those suspects to put him in trouble. He prayed that God should intervene in his case and protect his job.

Meeanwhile, bad reports has come forward concerning the embattled DPO. He has been described as wicked and corrupt by residents of Tolu part of Ajegunle when he was in charge of Tolu police station several months ago.

His case has drawn much attention with the Inspector General of Police, Mr Mohammed Abubakar and the Lagos State government led by Governor Babatunde Fashola (SAN) declaring interest in the case.
