Health workers attempting to bury victims of the Ebola virus in Sierra Leone on Saturday, September 20, 2014 were attacked by irate youths, Al-Jazeera reports.
Police were said to have been called in to help the team in Matainkay, which is 20 kilometers to the east of Freetown, the country’s capital after the team had to abandon five bodies and scamper for safety.
Since Sierra Leone imposed a curfew on Friday, September 19, 2014, a major part of the country’s six million people have had to stay indoors with only health workers, professionals and security forces allowed on the street.
