DUTSE — Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested a retired police constable, Ibrahim Safiyanu, of Gida Dubu in Dutse metropolis, Jigawa State, for escaping from a magistrate court custody.
The 30-year-old ex-police man was arrested over the weekend in his hideout.
The commandant of NSCDC Jigawa state command, Dr. Muhammad Gidado said the arrest followed a warrant of arrest issued to the NSCDC by the court.
Describing the escape as shameful, he said it was a “capital blunder for a custodian of the law, serving or retired, to undermine and abuse the rules of law that he was paid to protect”.
