ORANGE COUNTY, USA – A Florida man has been arrested for the murder of his wife after allegedly shooting her in their home shortly after she filed for divorce.

Lamar Bryant, 41, was taken into custody for first-degree murder in connection with the death of his wife, Takeshia Eads, 42.

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a 911 call at around 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the couple’s home in Orlo Vista, just west of Orlando.

The caller reported that Bryant had shot his wife.

Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement found Eads with a gunshot wound to her head.

She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Investigators revealed that Eads had recently filed for divorce from Bryant, and that Bryant did not want to sign the papers.

The couple, who had been married for ten years, was in the midst of a heated dispute over the separation.

Before the shooting, Bryant had picked up one of their daughters from school and stopped at a liquor store, later visiting a storage unit.

The young girl, whose identity has not been disclosed, told investigators that Bryant kept firearms in the unit.

When he returned to the car, he placed two firearms on the center console. Shortly after arriving home, gunshots were heard, and Eads was found dead.

Eads’ oldest daughter, Cordeja Paige, expressed her grief and spoke out about domestic violence, urging those experiencing abuse to seek help.

Paige described her mother as a kind and selfless person who prioritized her family and community, emphasizing that her mother had touched many lives.

Bryant is currently being held without bond and made his initial court appearance.
