As earlier reported, the presidential election of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) held in Abuja at the International Conference Centre on Thursday turned violent as opposing delegates smashed ballot boxes and began attacking each other.

The election which was held to select a replacement for the current president Abdulwaheed Omar was not to be as the ensuing violence prevented the elections from getting concluded peaceably.
