Nigeria’s President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 held a closed door meeting with former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Lagos.
The meeting, which lasted for almost an hour was held at the Presidential wing on the Murtala Muhammed Airport.
General Buhari was in Lagos, alongside leaders of the All Progressives Congres (APC) for a “thank you” visit and to drum support for Akinwunmi Ambode, the party’s governorship candidate in the state, but held the meeting with Obasanjo before proceeding to Orile, where the campaign was held.
Punch reports that a member of General Buhari’s entourage, whose name was not disclosed said: “Gen. Buhari and former President Obasanjo were in the inner lounge of the presidential wing of the airport where they held a secret meeting for almost an hour.
“The National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, Governor Rotimi Amaechi, Senator Chris Ngige and many of us were made to stay at the main lounge throughout the meeting. We do not really know what was discussed but it must have been very sensitive.”
