We like this beary, beary much.

May we introduce you to The Great Sleeping Bear, AKA the ULTIMATE sleeping bag.

Well, we say sleeping bag, but it is actually first and foremost a sculpture.

Created by Japanese-born artist Eiko Ishizawa, The Great Sleeping Bear was inspired by the story of a bear who escaped from the Italian side of the Alps to the Bavarian side in 2006, and was eventually hunted down and killed.Snug as a bug (Picture: Eiko Ishizawa)

Ishizawa explains: ‘He was called a problem bear, as he was the first wild bear for 170 years. He evoked huge discussion among people and governments whether they should kill or leave him alive.’

Made from faux-fur, rubber and foam with glass eyes, this sleeping bag is an homage to Bruno the brown bear, and 100 per cent the most amazing sleeping bag we’ve ever seen.

In fact, we wouldn’t want to sleep in the wilderness without one.

At £1,400 it’s pretty expensive for a sleeping bag… but not a bad bargain as a practical piece of art.

Calling all budding Bear Grylls – you need this in your life.
