The former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has been named the new Emir of Kano.
This was announced on Sunday, June 8 , 2014 by the governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, flanked by four kingmakers from the Kano Emirate.
The seat was vacant following the death of late Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero on Friday, June 6, 2014.
