96-year-old former Supreme Court Justice Chukwudifu Akunne Oputa (rtd.), has suffered a stroke late Saturday February 15 2014 night.
According to reports, the legal luminary is hospitalized in Oguta, Imo State, after suffering an apparent stroke.
The erstwhile Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria is father to popular musician and former President of PMAN, Charles Oputa, aka Charly Boy.
Justice Oputa became well know to many Nigerians when former President Olusegun Obasanjo appointed him in 1999 to investigate the abuses carried out by the army during the 15 years reign of the military in Nigeria. The investigation panel was dubbed ‘the Oputa panel’.
