Former president of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Okey Waki has been released on Thursday, October 23, 2014 after he was kidnapped on Saturday, October 11, 2014 in port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital.
Waki’s is release was confirmed by Ahmad Muhammed, the Rivers state police public relation on Friday, October 24, 2014 although he did not state whether a ransom was paid or any arrests have been made.
His release was also confirmed by the current president of the NBA, Augustine Alegeh, who added that Wali was released “hale, hearty and in high spirit.”
