Man Arrested In Chad After Duping Jigawa Yam Seller 5 Years Ago

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in Jigawa State has arrested a 27-year old man, Bashir Ali of Kofar Sarki, Kafin Gang in Birnin Kudu Local government area of the state for duping a yam seller, Rufa’I Adamu of about N116,000 five years ago.

Vanguard reports that the suspect had approached Adamu and collected yam tubers worth the aforementioned amount under the pretense of selling the yams returning the money only to disappear for five years.

Adamu, who hails from Makarahuta village in Kachako local government area in Kano state told the NSCDC that the he got a tip-off suspect was hiding in Chad Republic. This was after going to his village in Jigawa to locate him without luck, with Ali’s kinsmen saying he had not been seen for five years.

Ali has since confessed to the crime during investigation, attributing his actions to the devil.
