Onyekachukwu Edeh, has been arrested for allegedly killing his friend with a machete, following a heated argument between them.
Although the cause of the conflict between the two friends could not be stated, the State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, confirmed that the sad incident took place on Monday, October 26, 2014.
According to Mr Ebere: “On that fateful Monday, October 27,2014 at Eziobodo Amechi Idodo in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State, one Onyekachukwu Edeh allegedly inflicted a machete cut on the forehead of the deceased over an alleged misunderstanding that arose between the suspect and Nnaji Onukwube which caused him harm.
“He was later rushed to a nearby hospital where he was confirmed dead.The body of the deceased was deposited at the hospital mortuary of Annunciation Hospital, Emene, Enugu, awaiting autopsy.
“Meanwhile, a full scale investigation has commenced into the incident as the suspect, Onyekachukwu Edeh, is now helping the police in their investigation, following his immediate arrest,” Mr Ebere stated.
