Man Stabs Lagos Bar Tender For Looking At His Girlfriend [GRAPHIC IMAGE]

A man, Kelvin Friday has been arraigned for allegedly attacking a bar man, Simeon Tenebe with a beer bottle for looking at his girlfriend at a hotel in Obokun Avenue in Ojodu area of Lagos State.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 as Tenebe was discussing with his sister around 6pm when Friday confronted him over an incident that happened earlier in the day, accusing him of staring at his girlfriend.

This quickly got out of hand as Friday smashed the bottle of beer he was drinking on Tenebe, causing injuries to his head and face. His girlfriend fled the scene the as soon as the barman began bleeding, after which the bleeding barman reported the matter to the police.

The police consequently apprehended Friday and charged him to an Ikeja magistrate court on assault charges to which he pleaded not guilty.

The charge reads, “That you, Kelvin Friday, 25, on October 21, 2014 at about 6pm at Obokun Avenue, Ojodu in the Ikeja Magisterial District unlawfully used a bottle on the head and face of one Simeon Tenebe and inflicted injuries, to wit grievous harm and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 243 (1) Vol. 44, No. 2 Law of Lagos State, 2011.”

His bail was set at N100,000 with two sureties in the like sum. The sureties must present evidence of tax payment, means of livelihood, a cash deposit of N20,000 to the account of the chief registrar and their addresses verified by the prosecutor.
