‘Men Are Not Built to Be Sexually Faithful’: 2Baba Sparks Outrage With Biological Claim

LAGOS, Nigeria — Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has stirred intense public debate following his remarks claiming that men are biologically incapable of remaining sexually faithful to one woman.

In a candid conversation with media personality Nedu, aired during a recent interview, 2Baba argued that while men can truly love and be emotionally committed to one woman, sexual exclusivity is, in his view, biologically unnatural for men.

“A man is not built to be sexually with one woman. Heart and love dey with one woman. But sexually, e dey impossible for man. It is the biology of man,” 2Baba said in a mix of English and Nigerian Pidgin.

“Man fit love one woman die, but when it comes to that sexual satisfaction it’s hard. Dey seed too plenty, you no fit drop am for one woman.”

The remarks have drawn a wave of reactions across social media platforms, with many accusing the singer of reinforcing harmful stereotypes and excusing infidelity.

Others have defended his comments, citing perceived evolutionary and cultural norms.

2Baba’s own personal life has long been the subject of public interest.

In 2012, he married Nollywood actress Annie Macaulay-Idibia after years of a tumultuous relationship.

The couple, who share two children, have faced repeated media scrutiny over allegations of infidelity and internal conflict.

Earlier this year, the singer confirmed the couple’s separation, announcing that divorce proceedings were underway.

The news followed emerging reports linking him romantically to Natasha Osawaru, a serving lawmaker from Edo State.

Neither Macaulay-Idibia nor Osawaru has publicly responded to the latest developments or 2Baba’s recent comments.
