Adamawa Guber: Muhammad Bindow Wins APC Primary

A former Senator, Muhammad Jibrillah Bindow on Sunday, September 7, 2014, emerged as the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Saturday, October 11, 2014 by-election in Adamawa state which will see him go up against the acting governor, Umaru Fintiri who won the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary earlier the same day.

Both aspirants incidentally come from the same Adamawa North senatorial district.

Chairman of the APC electoral committee, Dr. Garba Abari who announced the outcome of the primaries said out of a total of 6,232 votes, 42 votes were declared invalid, of the 6,190 valid votes Bindow scored 2,718 votes while his closest rival, Alhaji Ibrahim Mijinyawa Yayaji scored 2,268 votes to emerge 2nd.

According to a report by Thisday, other aspirants and their votes are as follows: Boss Mustapha scored 515 votes to clinch the third position, followed by Senator Ahmed Barata, who scored 452 votes, while Chief Yakubu Tsala scored 187 votes and Mr. Emmanuel Bello scored 50 votes.
