Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Invites Akpabio to Commission Projects in Kogi

ABUJA, Nigeria — Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, senator representing Kogi Central, has formally invited Senate President Godswill Akpabio and fellow lawmakers to her constituency for a project commissioning ceremony, just two months after returning from a six-month suspension.

Akpabio read the invitation during October 30, 2025, Thursday’s plenary session.

In her letter, Akpoti-Uduaghan said the event, scheduled for Sunday, November 2, 2025, in Ihima, Kogi State, would coincide with her second anniversary in office.

“In marking my second-year anniversary as a serving senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I wish to invite fellow distinguished senators to join me for project commissioning in Kogi State,” the letter read in part.

She informed colleagues that the gathering point would be her residence at Plot 101, Jimoh Akpoti Street, Ihima, Okene, and advised lawmakers travelling by air to land at the Obajana airstrip, from where they would continue by road.

Akpabio congratulated Akpoti-Uduaghan after reading the correspondence.

The invitation follows a turbulent period in the upper chamber for the Kogi senator.

On Thursday, February 20, 2025, she was involved in a heated exchange with Akpabio over seating arrangements, later accusing the senate president of sexual harassment — a claim he denied.

On Thursday, March 6, 2025 the Senate suspended her for six months after adopting the report of the Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions.

She returned to plenary on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, and has gradually resumed full legislative duties.

Since her reinstatement, Akpoti-Uduaghan has re-engaged actively, attending a legislative retreat hosted by the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development on Saturday, October 18, 2025.

Earlier on Thursday, October 30, 2025, she sponsored a bill seeking to establish a National Centre for Autism and six zonal centres across the country to support early diagnosis, research, and care for individuals with autism spectrum disorders.
