ABUJA, Nigeria — Natasha Osawaru, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly and wife of Nigerian music star 2Baba, has been honoured with the Best Legislator Award at the 2025 National Leadership Awards.
The ceremony, held at the Nigerian Merit House in Maitama, Abuja, on Sunday, September 7, 2025, recognised Osawaru for her legislative contributions and community-focused programmes.
Representing Egor Constituency, Osawaru has sponsored bills and championed initiatives on women’s empowerment, education, healthcare, and youth development.
Organisers cited her record as evidence of her commitment to addressing pressing social needs.
Beyond her legislative duties, Osawaru has launched scholarship schemes, organised free medical outreach programmes, and supported skills acquisition projects in her constituency.
These initiatives, organisers said, had a direct impact on residents of Egor.
Speaking after receiving the award, Osawaru dedicated the honour to her people.
“This award belongs to the people of Egor. I remain committed to serving with integrity, passion, and dedication,” she said.
